Q: Where do the flights take place?
A: Most flights take place along the scenic Rio Grande
River Valley. Flight arrangements can be made for other
locations as well. On the morning of your flight, your
pilot will select a launch site based upon the wind
direction and speed.
Q: Where and when do we meet?
A: We typically pick our passengers up sometime between
5:30 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. depending upon the time of
the year. When we know your specific booking date,
we will give you the pick up time. Our free hotel pick
up service is recommended. If you would prefer to meet
us at the launch site, those arrangements can be made.
Q: How long will our flight last?
A: A typical flight will last approximately one hour.
Your time in the air may be shorter or longer depending
upon weather conditions and availability of landing
sites. We guarantee you will be airborne at least 45
minutes.
Q: What should I wear?
A: Dress for the weather as you will be outdoors most
of the time. The temperature in the balloon will be
similar to the temperature on the ground. You should
not wear open-toed shoes or heels, and you might want
to consider sunscreen, sunglasses, or a hat, as the
early morning sun can be strong.
Q: What should I bring?
A: Cameras and camcorders are welcome to record your
memorable adventure. Don't forget to bring plenty of
film!
Q: How high will we go?
A: We can go anywhere from treetop height to several
thousand feet. It is dependant upon the wind speed
and direction.
Q: How many people are in the balloon?
A: Number of passengers can range from two to six.
Q: Will I be affected if I suffer from motion sickness?
A: No. As the balloon moves with the wind, there is
none of this sensation. A balloon flight is so calm,
it is possible to set a glass of water on a table in
a balloon and not spill a drop.
Q: How do we get back to our hotel or car?
A: Our chase vehicle will follow us throughout our
flight. After we land and celebrate with champagne,
we will return you to your point of pick up!
Q: Who can fly in a balloon?
A: Ballooning is an activity all ages can enjoy. We
require our passengers be a minimum of eight years
old. We will not carry pregnant women or anyone who
has health problems that could be adversely affected
by a balloon flight (that is up to you and your physician
to decide).
Q: Why might your pilot choose not to fly?
A: We only fly is weather conditions are safe. Typically,
most Albuquerque mornings are ideal for balloon flights.
Generally, the wind must be within permissible parameters
and the weather conditions must be good.
